Misinformation about election fraud is rampant on social media. We need your help to set the record straight.
Misinformation about election fraud is rampant on social media, especially on Twitter. These baseless stories are sowing doubts in the validity of our election and undermining our democracy. Our Mythbusting team is designed to activate volunteers like you by providing the resources and tools you need to find misinformation on social media at its source, and debunk that misinformation directly.
We’re holding a Mythbusting kick-off call and training on Monday, November 30th at 7pm ET, where we’ll train you on our Twitter search tool Tweetdeck and get you started debunking false and misleading claims about the election at the source. Here’s what you need to know:
When: Join us on Zoom at 7pm ET / 4pm PT on Monday, November 30th.
Where: Right from your computer!
Why: To fight misinformation about voter fraud on social media.
Our goal with Mythbusting is not to change the mind of the spreader of the misinformation, but rather to inform social media users who come across this misinformation and present them with facts. By debunking the misinformation at its source, we’re able to provide facts and resources at a pivotal moment, debunking these rumors in real time and stopping the idea from spreading further.
