Voters should choose their politicians; Politicians shouldn't choose their voters.
After 425,000 Michigan voters signed the petition to place an anti-gerrymandering ballot initiative on the ballot, establishment special interests tried to prevent the people from being able to vote on it. The people of Michigan fought back, and now Prop 2, which will fix Michigan's broken redistricting process, is firmly on the ballot.
This fight is far from over, though. Now, special interest groups are spreading misinformation about Prop 2 in an attempt to keep power out of the hands of Michigan voters.
The campaign has now entered an incredibly critical time. Absentee voting is underway in Michigan, so it’s important that voters hear about the campaign before they cast their ballots.
That's where you come in.
Join RepresentUs members and supporters at the Cass Corridor Commons in Detroit on Thursday, October 11th at 5:00pm. We'll be joining other RepresentUs members across the country as a part of the Calling Out Corruption program, all making calls to talk to voters here in Michigan.
RepresentUs HQ will be hosting trainings until 7:30pm, so please join, even if it's just for an hour. If possible, bring a laptop or a tablet, as the calls are going to be made through a dialer on your computer. If you have headphones or earbuds with a microphone, bring those as well.
Thank you, and we'll see you on Thursday!
PS. Can't make this event, but want to join another night? Head to the Calling Out Corruption homepage to see the list of all of the upcoming virtual phonebanks.
